For last 2 years, Ps3 has had most best games, according to reviews etc..Ofc everyone has own taste of games.Sure, it does good but there must be some reason why it doesn't do great. Its hard for me to belive Wii still outsells it after all that Sony has done lately. So Wii is unique with unique controls and those Nintendo games..Now Sony becomes as unique with basicly Wii games and Xbox 360 "hardcore" games, which it has had already enough and is selling little better at the moment than Xbox 360.

So will the price be biggest flaw?Consumers might think, that they need only 1 console and when they see Ps3 with all its Blu-ray etc etc and Move, they will go for Ps3.
But then will Ps3 go to childrens houses also?Might be, since it has that brand name.

Reviewers suck.

In order of the most best games people actually want to buy:

1. Nintendo.

2. Microsoft.

3. Sony.

You know quality isnt about sales right? So why refer to them as best games? Best music isnt Miley Cyrus or Taylor Swift, best movie isnt Avatar, they may have more appeal, that doesnt make them better at all.

OT: I dont agree with simulacrum, thats a very naive analisis of how the market works.

If you want to play Mario or Halo, you can't get them on the PS3.  The PS3 doesn't have answers for these two.  That is why one may decide not to get a PS3.  ALso, $100 price point to start with Move is NOT an answer to the Wii.  Maybe a Wii user may want to upgrade to the PS3, but as an entry point, it doesn't beat the Wii.

Because other than a few exclusives, the PS3 still doesn't really have anything that stands out?

The first party support doesn't compare to Nintendo's, the third party support doesn't compare to the 360's, the motion controller will be severely underutilized compared to the Wiimote, and the tech is severely outdated, and increasingly so as the time goes by.

Wii comes with 1 remote and 1 nunchuck. In the U.S. extra remotes are $40 and extra nunchucks are $20. Out of the box anybody can play any single player game.

PS3 comes with neither until they announce their bundle prices. Don't know the prices for the extra controllers yet either. But for some games you'll need 2 Moves for 1 person (like the swordfighting or boxing), or 1 Move and 1 subcontroller for 1 person (like SOCOM). So if you want the ability to play all the games you might need to buy 2 more controllers.

Also, if you need a joystick (on the subchuck) you can't play 4 players. So you can't play 4 player local SOCOM, but a Wii could play 4 player local Red Steel in 2006 with all 4 players using the nunchuck. I think the lack of local multiplayer in those games will be a huuuuuuuuge disadvantage when it comes to the expanded audience, which is all about partying at home instead of playing online. But one-controller games can be 4 players, like bowling and ping pong.

Also, I don't think the PS3 can do Wii Fit or Natal. But now it can do some really interesting unique stuff like the EyePet. We'll see what happens. But no, the PS3 isn't now every console at once.

Well... EA Sports Active is coming out for PS3 and 360. So fitness games ARE possible. Maybe not Wii Fit itself, but it's a start.

That game's even coming to the iPhone, which is even crazier.  But now everybody's got a little something exclusive they can do control-wise by the end of this year.

I look forward to seeing the most hardcore gamers debating which control schemes are better for exercising and dancing.

He said the games people want to buy. Not the games of highest quality. Sales may not be an indication of "quality" though it's better than reviews from a narrow demographic, but it does indicate what people want to buy. So far not only has XBox 360 software been consistently ahead of PS3 software, it also out-tracks it even though the PS3 hardware out-tracks 360 hardware. Course, Nintendo is ahead in both.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

The reason at this point is simply the games, mainly the first party exclusives. And also depends on what your friends have for online, PSn or XBLA which will determine which you want to use for online play :)

and also now it's morel ike PS3 = PS3 + wii + xbox Ps3 was already delivering some awesome games

If you are talking about games, then you must be living under the largest rock that has yet to be discovered..

SONY has a 1st party studio that is MUCH LARGER than nintendos, and brings out MUCH MORE QUALITY ip than nintendo.

If you are talking about the motion controller, then I wont argue, since we haven't seen many 1st party or 3rd party titles that utilize the move, and the PS3 has as much 3rd party support as the XBOX 360 has.. give or take an exclusive 3rd party game.

And it's a Blu-ray player too, all for $299.  A great buy anyway you slice it.

Or maybe just maybe, you don't realize that the install base is buying games, not just peope buying the 360..

the 360 has 5-6 million more units out there than the ps3, I would be absolutely shocked if the system cannot sell more software then the PS3. Sadly the only place it does that, and by maybe a considerable gap is in the AMERICAS, were the 360 has twice the install base.

Now if you take out WII SPORTS, and all those pack in games that add into wii software sales, maybe you will get a different picture.

Im getting so tired of the "people buy this more than that, therefore its better" if people were to buy a pile of poop, and eat it, over apple pie, would that make it better than apple pie?
