Forums - Sony - FFXIII Staying PS3-exclusive it seems.

undecided.........i think they should just hit multi platform so we can stop worrying

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

why does every thread about final fantasy 13 devolve into "Which FF game was better"? Can't we just agree that they all suck and move on?

I agree. I never got the big appeal of the FF games... There are much better RPGs IMO

on a side note, has anyone played FF 12: reverent wings for DS? is it worth buying?

Wow this thread was misleading. Way to go stickball.

I post at FF-XIII.net sometimes. I finally decided to read the whole interview instead of the snippets provided here. Not only were Nomura's comments labeled Versus-centric, his little comment about PS3 exclusive were about Versus, which falls in line with what he said earlier (which was coneveniently cut) about the developers wanting to "explore" the PS3's specs.

This doesn't mean it's suddenly not exclusive, but it does shed some light on what Nomura was actually talking about when it came to why Versus was taking so long.

Don't flame me but i liked FF9 the best...

That's just me tho.

Excuse me while I take out my matches....

Actually, I could never get into FF9 because I got stuck early on in the game so my friend let me use his file which was a little farther ahead of mine. This was a HUGE mistake because he liked FF8 so much that he renamed the characters to FF8 names, which really messed me up.

If anything, I'm glad that the new Final Fantasy games are moving away from letting you rename your characters. FFX was a good start, but I don't know why they would let you rename Tidus since he's the main character with voice acting. . .

Claude, I ask you. What odds do you think we will see a 360 version of FFXIII or Versus XIII?

Honestly, I have no idea. In the case of XIII I think it's really low but not impossible. It really depends on what Microsoft is willing to do and if SE is ready to get out of PS3's bed anytime soon.

Versus I think is more likely despite what Nomura said. It's a side game, not the main attraction. If PS3 sales aren't up to their liking they may crack and go multiplat with Versus. On the other hand, SE has a bad tendency to abandon projects that aren't making money (Code Age), so it may not go to 360 not because they didn't want it to, but because they're trying to cut their losses while they can.

Nomura and Kitase have a fiery hatred of ports. That is why I think it is SO unlikely that you will see Nomura ever openly talk about a port.

I also don't think the losses S-E are taking here will be that much as I think Sony will be providing a lot of finance support. We know they done that with MGS4 so it does stand to reason that they done the same with FF and around March this year S-E and Sony reported that they were in discussions about these games exclusive and since that discussion everything from S-E has said that these are exclusive.
