Forums - Sony - FFXII is bar none the greatest Final Fantasy ever

well i'm trying to make a point, an opinion is NEVER wrong nor NEVER right. its just an opinion
while bold statements or facts are sometimes wrong or sometimes right, see here is where you guys told me that my fact is wrong (and btw i know i am wrong) , thats why i think Jesus's fact is wrong too, since he didn't make it as his opinion but rather a fact that is true no matter the person.

Listen, in principle I do agree with you. We agree on these things.

The thing is that what J-man is saying here is not a statement of fact, and can't be construed as such. There's no need to take him seriously if you disagree with him - it is, after all, just his opinion, regardless of how it's said.

The one exception to this (this has happened before) would be if he said something like "FFXII is the greatest FF, and that's not an opinion that's a FACT" in which case, yeah, that would be dumb

Khuutra and Severance, stop having this stupid discussion! You're derailing the thread!

But yeah I enjoyed FFXII quite a bit. Not as much as you did, but yeah, it's great.

It's funny though I was just in another thread talking about people who keep playing games in genres they hate. You've played how many FFs that you hated?

Why didn't you just.... stopped? Oh I know... because you like bashing on other people's tastes to make yourself seem superior.

And why are you refering to yourself in the 3rd person again? Make up your mind!!

God, what have I become

Uh

Say, you know what I liked? Quickenings. They were strategically really important almost the whole game through, and they were way, way waaaaaaay more interactive and intense than almost any other form of limit break throughout the franchise.

^^
we are giving Jesus his $$$

@Khuutra , i didn't take it seriously but some other people here will take it seriously, thats why i said he shouldn't do it.
Now this discussion is over.

no more $$$ for you jesus.

THat's just it, though, those statements of fact are factually wrong and can be refuted as such, and saying "it's just my opinion" wouldn't be defensible. Saying "Futurama's jokes are all about sex" could be factually disputed by tallying up the number of sex jokes compared tto other joeks across a sample of episodes, and it would be easy.

Opinions do not need to be punctuated with "IMO" because doing so is redundant and pandering to people who worry too much about that sort of thing. That's my opinion, of course, but I'm only pointing that fact out for the sake of illustration.

you are doing it again =s

you make a big deal out of something so small...

Whenever someone is wrong on the internet, I'll be there

Fuming

I'm sorry, but I had to. After reading your post this is the first thing that came to mind.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

I enjoyed Quickenings to a point. The interactivity was great (reminded of Sabin's Blitz attacks), but the MP system they worked on made them practically useless in battle, much like the Espers.

I heard that they changed it in the International Zodiac Job System version. In it, the system has a bar of its own. It's yet another reason I hate SE for not releasing it in the west. >=(

I'd probably rate is as my favourite post-FF6 game in the series. Fantastic game. I enjoyed it much more on my second playthrough - which is probably the only RPG I could say that about.

I am really loving FFXIII, though.

So basically, you don't like Final Fantasy games, but you like Final Fantasy XII. Nothing wrong with or weird about that, it's one of the most unusual in the series.

Well now, that ain't quite right fair. You just had to know when to use them strategically - even if you went in with only one mist charge (it was easy to go in with nine), you could pull off a Hell of a chain if you were careful. And Quickenings just became more specialized as time went on - use them to take off thel ast third of a boss's HP instead of jus freaking obliterating it, for example.

And Espers

Boy howdy

I know you didn't have much to do once you got Zodiark, but he was worth it.

And I'd like to play the International version of the game, but I don't know if I'd just be in love with it. My characters are always highly specialized, but not necessarily in the way the job system would allow.
