God, what have I become

Uh

Say, you know what I liked? Quickenings. They were strategically really important almost the whole game through, and they were way, way waaaaaaay more interactive and intense than almost any other form of limit break throughout the franchise.

I enjoyed Quickenings to a point. The interactivity was great (reminded of Sabin's Blitz attacks), but the MP system they worked on made them practically useless in battle, much like the Espers.

I heard that they changed it in the International Zodiac Job System version. In it, the system has a bar of its own. It's yet another reason I hate SE for not releasing it in the west. >=(

Well now, that ain't quite right fair. You just had to know when to use them strategically - even if you went in with only one mist charge (it was easy to go in with nine), you could pull off a Hell of a chain if you were careful. And Quickenings just became more specialized as time went on - use them to take off thel ast third of a boss's HP instead of jus freaking obliterating it, for example.

And Espers

Boy howdy

I know you didn't have much to do once you got Zodiark, but he was worth it.

And I'd like to play the International version of the game, but I don't know if I'd just be in love with it. My characters are always highly specialized, but not necessarily in the way the job system would allow.
