We would not need a thread like this if annoying posters didn't keep posting how much they hate 12. I certainly don't write FFX blows on every post I make on the subject.

No, I don't think it's the best, but I still loved FF12... after leaving it for almost 3 years LOL. The story and characters are not so good (which is probably why I abandoned it for so long), but the game-play was addictive once I came back, especially during hunts. I think it depends a lot on the player, though. The emphasis was definitely more on strategy over action and not everyone likes that. (Actually the gambit system is a lot like tactics in Dragon Age, but gambits seem to work better LOL)

I bet that if they hadn't included Vaan and his lameness/weird painted-on abs/story irrelevance, FF12 would've been 10x better.

FFXIII is the best FF game and Gran Pulse is the best area in a FF game ever

FFXII for a RPG is something between mediocre and decent.
FFXII for a main FF game is a discrace to humankind.

I'll take FFIV-FFX over it any day.
