expensive but expected.

No point getting early generation 3D technology. Look at LCD and how much they improved that over the space of the last couple of years. Once they hit the point of diminished returns for static I.Q. is probably the time to buy.

Heres a cheaper solution. Go to the cinema and watch a 3D film. When you leave, dont give back your 3D glasses so you have some to use back home.

you cant...its not the same technology. you need shutter-glasses

Really? Oh I didnt know that. But right now Im not really interested in 3D TVs so not that bothered

I read in the newspaper that different companies 3D glasses aren't compatible with other 3D tvs.

I don't even understand why they need a special TV if they're using shutter glasses. Blu-Ray can do 1080p60 which should be able to give 30FPS in 3D without need for a special TV set if you can synchronize the glasses through the PS3.

I'd definitely pay that much for a set of 3D glasses if I could use them with a PS3 and my current TV set. If I'm going to have to buy a whole new set, I want it to work with the cheap polarized glasses.

@ senatorpjt )

well, first gen 3D TVs all use the shutterglasses tech - there are some pro-displays that use polarizing, but none of them can reach HD resolution, because they alternate the polarizing per pixel row, so the res is effectively halved (1920x540 or 960x1080)

i.e. the TV needs to be twice as wide or tall to reach the same kind of res with that kind of build - in cinemas they use 2 projectors for that, that's why there is no res loss

Hah. I had to chuckle at that one.

The BuShA owns all!

LOL how am I going to explain getting a new TV....

Still a bit expensive for my liking.

Call it £700 ~ "40 and 2 pairs thrown in and I am sold.

I will wait till Black Friday before the plunge into 3D. Should be some good sales going on around then.
