I don't even understand why they need a special TV if they're using shutter glasses. Blu-Ray can do 1080p60 which should be able to give 30FPS in 3D without need for a special TV set if you can synchronize the glasses through the PS3.
I'd definitely pay that much for a set of 3D glasses if I could use them with a PS3 and my current TV set. If I'm going to have to buy a whole new set, I want it to work with the cheap polarized glasses.
