Well GoW III's combat seems the best in the series so far with new weapon system and new combos..
I think people dislike GoW's combat because you can't pull off many combos until you upgrade your blades..when you upgrade them fully, the combat is full of win.
Still though, nothing will surpass GoW as the king of the genre for quite a while....

on production value maybe, it does not top Bayonetta in combat, but it is good.

In overall quality, not production values.

Having an amazing combat system is disappointing imo, when everything else isn't as good and the story is absurd.

GoW III is supposed to have one of the most amazing opening sequences ever in video games and the scale of it all is amazing.

dood, if Platinum Games had 5 years to make their game with 44 million USD thrown in their face, I'll bet you money that the product would be at least as good as GoW3, and likely better, from what I've played and seen. JP dev can only dream of having that much time and money in their face. Nobody is arguing that GoW3 isn't a good game, but I personally value game play above everything else, the rest can be piled with time and money, aka production value. I can easily enjoy both games and say what I like better in each one, and I have no question that GoW3 will have a better presentation, that's a "no shit," but the game play can't be matched to Bayonetta, and it won't be even close most likely.

It didn't take close to five years to develop.

Bayonetta and GoW's combat are very different. I personally hated the combat in Bayonetta.

Hey selnor, care to jump in and say how Dante's Inferno blows away God of War?  I know you posted prior saying how great the game is.

LoL really he did, i could see that dude doing that.  Never lears does he, Forza beeteing GT was his best though.

Dante game is ok, but to copy GOW so blatently was a massive mistake.

I tried the demo and couldn't stomach buying the full game, despite the setting being awesome, the gameplay was just the worst for me.

I played Modern Warfare 2 and it felt like a rip off of COD4.

Dante's Inferno is the sequel to God of War?

In EA's mind.

I think the game is awesome.

I was really impressed by the atmosphere and the art in the game. It really felt like fighting through hell. The action feels a lot better then the GoW3 demo and the attack animations are incredible. The animated cut scenes were also really refreshing.

Everyone has their own tastes though...

People don't understand how big of a rip-off this game is... I tried to tell them...but no...No one believed me..this thing copies GoW down to the T and therefore got fucked hard by the reviewers...

Hmm... didn't you smack me down in a thread when I tried to argue against that?

In regards to people bring up Darksiders or Bayonetta, all I can say is Darksiders tries to at least also rip off Zelda.

Companies get sued for producing unauthorized sequels to a game they didn't put out.

Wouldn't it beneficial if the designers at least took a break to think of how exactly they could IMPROVE the gameplay?

Atleast it gives 360 owners something similar? I don't really see the problem, if you don't like it don't buy it.
