Why is it that whenever the PR team or some guy from a company says they have a product that's so amazing, it will save the baby seals and cure cancer in the space of a heart beat. Surely everyone should understand it's their job to say these things, make the product/company they represent look better than the opposition.
I often have to scratch my head when Company A presents an item and try to say it's better than sliced bread, no sooner is this said do we have some know it all claiming it's just over blown PR talk that does not represent the true nature of their product. My question is; exactly what do you want them to say? "Our product is average and fails in comparison to the competition but please buy it all the same." Surely it should go without say that it's their job to be self important, brash and over blown and instead of being a smart arse maybe you should have a modicom of common sense and accept that they are just doing their jobs and trying to appear to be better than you might think.
I'm personally not sure about everyone else but if I were to hire a PR team, I wouldn't want them to be telling everyone how average I am or how better the competition is, I'd expect them to sell me as if their lives depended on it.
Am I the only one in this boat?
