Yet another way Move is inferior to the Wii.

Looking at your recent post history.
You are just a ray of unbiased sunshine sir. Thank you for opening my eyes to your truth.

Haven't played brawl much I take it. Brawl uses (on the GC controller, which is what I use cos I played so much Melee) the Control stick, the d pad AND the c stick. Two analogue sticks, and a dpad are requried to properly play brawl. Ie it could be done with the Sonymote and Sonychuk, but not with 2x Sonymote(unless you used the motion controls), and certainly not with 1x Sonymote (without ludicrously forced motion controls, such as twisting the controller to mimic the c stick) |
I was thinking of the DS3/Sixxaxis: games that on Wii are playable with 4 motes+ classic controllers are playeble on the PS3 with the Dualshocks/Sixxaxis, and you can connect 4 (or maybe 7?) of them.
So I suggested restricting the list to those games that really need a wiimote+nunchuck, ie they really need pointing and analog stick at the same time (note that I said pointing because "shake" kind of gestures with the mote or tilt control are also available on DS3/sixxaxis)

What about those where you get a competitive advantage, ie Mario Kart, or Brawl if you don't have any GC controllers?
And besides, there are heaps anyway
I would say the sports games are a pretty big deal, and make it pretty likely the PS3 will get some kind of four player expansion add on as we used to have in days of yore, when consoles only had two controller ports. It's pretty common that sports games get played with more than two players on local coop, so that seems like an issue to me.
The other games are all pretty one of a kind. Are you guys suggesting Sony should make a kart game which can be played by using the motion controller as a steering wheel, but in which the really advanced controls involve using the nunchuck as well? Are we just holding out for more excuses to create "all Sony does is copy Nintendo" threads at this point? :P
You could just as easily make a kart racing game that just uses the controls most people prefer on mario kart wii (just the wiimote for me as well) but introduces more advanced play mechanics, without the need to change the controllers you're using, couldn't you?

I didn't suggest Sony ripoff Nintendo at all. However, I just gave some proof that they'll have issues providing 4-player gameplay with Move. If anyone ever tries to create a 4-player FPS, they'd have to use the DS3s rather than the Move. I didn't list Red Steel, but that is because I didn't know it had 4-player.

Again, do you know how many FPS games with four-player split screen there are on PS3 right now, without motion controls? I agree it's a conceptual limitation, but it's not exactly common for FPS games this gen to have four player split screen, let alone the ones on the PS3. Rare features like that are the kind of thing game developers can easily plan around (or require an add-on for.)
It does come up in almost every sports game, though, so if they're serious about trying to get people to switch to motion controls for stuff like EA sports, they're going to need a multitap with more bluetooth connections.
