I would say the sports games are a pretty big deal, and make it pretty likely the PS3 will get some kind of four player expansion add on as we used to have in days of yore, when consoles only had two controller ports. It's pretty common that sports games get played with more than two players on local coop, so that seems like an issue to me.
The other games are all pretty one of a kind. Are you guys suggesting Sony should make a kart game which can be played by using the motion controller as a steering wheel, but in which the really advanced controls involve using the nunchuck as well? Are we just holding out for more excuses to create "all Sony does is copy Nintendo" threads at this point? :P
You could just as easily make a kart racing game that just uses the controls most people prefer on mario kart wii (just the wiimote for me as well) but introduces more advanced play mechanics, without the need to change the controllers you're using, couldn't you?
