Lack of multiplayer is going to hold this game from being a success. Simply idiotic to take away the one good feature from RS1.
Anyway I do think this game looks awesome. Won't however buy it at fullprice because of the lack of multiplayer.

Well, im going to buy it regardless of Gametrailers opinion. Theyre always going to underscore Wii games.
“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
I'm might have to get this later, I'm going to pre-order Monster Hunter 3 and pay in full, so I won't be able to get this game until I get more money.
No questions, want to save the goodness for myself.
I am very jealous though and can't wait to get this game in my hands.
Really hope for some decent sales but with only 30k pre-orders and the typical buying habits of wii owners.
I am keeping my sales expectations low :(
However with the announcement of the move and 'sap' or nunchuck thingy, I do think that the first person shooter slasher genre will grow and we will see more games like this for both Wii and PS3. That will make me happy :)

Is it even remotely close to 1:1 sword fighting? From the last E3 presentation I was quiete hyped for it, but that slowly faded away as more info was beeing unveiled.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
@aragod, plenty of links to preview info here - http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=102671
I think the game measures your speed and strength, but in terms of your specific movement matched in game, its a close approximation and thats simply because its alot harder for you to actually pull off these kinds of moves consistently. Its weird but these people reckon that makes sense.
So its 1 to 1, but with assistance at times. I dk if i explained it right.

Thanks, that sound much better than what I was expecting, maybe it's time to dust of my Wii again.

I played it some more today, and it's really addictive. I'm liking the game more the longer I play. The levels are designed greatly, and the sidequests keep things from getting predictable.
| Samus Aran said: One question, what about left-handed people like me? :( I don't mind doing the shooting part with my left hand as I don't notice it anymore, but won't the sword fighting be akward? |
I see no problem for lefties like you. The character in the game holds his sword with two hands, so you never feel out of sync with the game, regardless if your left or right handed. The gun, I think, is also hold with two hands. At least the first gun (haven't unlocked the other guns yet).

Absolute 1:1? No, and I'm glad it's not. Remotely close? Definitely. You still have to make motions to do the moves, so it's not like you can just do anything with the sword and it translates. But every motion you do feels natural and distinct, and it always reckognize what you do perfectly.
Seriously guys, both the shooting and the slashing aspects of the controls have been 100% nailed. I have not played a Wii game which controlled better than Red Steel 2 (WSR and Metroid are close, but not better).

Video like that should indicate what its like.
