Against popular belief it isn't the HD consoles that make companies go under. Its the companies inability to A. meet deadlines. B. budget correctly. C. get a producer to sign on the project. D. make a good game

Yeah, that is a BIT overpriced when the Wiimote and Nuchuck were merely $60 4 years ago and they're basically the same. You can see where more complaints stem from.


NO. NO. They haven't "priced" anything. Please stop this misinformation and pay attention to what they said at the conference.

It's a GAME DEVELOPERS conference, and they WILL BE selling the DEVELOPMENT kits for move under $100. OK? got that? 

 

Development kit price > Retail consumer price. Always. And I'm not saying that bundle won't/couldn't be priced $100 or $99 or whatever for the consumer. But the point is, they haven't priced anything or decided how to MARKET IT for that matter.

If there are specific people, I think they SHOULD be called out.  After reading your post I just got a different impression, one I'm afraid a lot of people are going to try and make...

For the record, I think its basically a Wiimote rip off too.  Doesn't mean it couldn't be cool, but, yeah, its pretty obvious.

I don't hate Sony for doing what they are doing: It's all about the bottom line. Obviously they believe this will sell well and went the safe route.

However, what does upset me is the current trend towards the art of Waggling. I prefer a standard controller over anything else.



It's just that simple.

PC is an company?

So companies are staying alive beacuse of the strong support of the Wii?

 

I meant the Wii and PC as platforms not companies.

Also the Wii has a low-cost, high return, low costs coming from the fact that they don't spend millions on the superfluous aspects of gaming. They don't support it strongly, but they do support it because otherwise they would have gone under. Plain and simple as that.

How many companies can you think of that have manage to survive without the either of the two I mentioned? I can only think of a few and they are being supported directly by either Sony or Microsoft.

Find someone that is supporting the PS3 Move that doesn't own a Wii and you'll find someone that mocked it in the past. If they were really into the idea they would have bought a Wii during the last 3 years, no?

What about people that don't own a Wii because they thought that most games on the Wii were unimpressive and is currently interested in PSMove? The people like myself.

I just want to be clear that several of the posters here are saying that because there is no "proof" of it, that no PS3 fan was against motion controls and is now magically interested. Not one person trolled the Wii and now can't wait to waggle with their "Move", right? PS3 fans are completely blameless? Is that what is being said here?
