I highly doubt that's even remotely true. Every company would have gone under if only the 2 HD consoles existed, even Activision. Remember how they posted a loss after the amazing MW2 sales? The only thing that is actually keeping companies afloat this generation are the Wii and, very surprisingly, the PC.

I meant the Wii and PC as platforms not companies.

Also the Wii has a low-cost, high return, low costs coming from the fact that they don't spend millions on the superfluous aspects of gaming. They don't support it strongly, but they do support it because otherwise they would have gone under. Plain and simple as that.

How many companies can you think of that have manage to survive without the either of the two I mentioned? I can only think of a few and they are being supported directly by either Sony or Microsoft.
