I'm on the fence. Let's say Red Steel 2 is ported to the PS3. How much could it possibly sell? It's potential customers would be a fraction of the PS3 audience (which is a fraction of the Wii audience). Not good from a business point of view......

well how many copy's would it need to sell to over come the cost's of investment?
that also depend's on a number of factor's:
what the base entry cost for Playstation move is: example is someone already has the playstation eye, than that's one less thing the player would need:
right now there is just too many unknown's to know for sure what the disadvantages /advantages would be in porting Wii 3rd party App's over to the Playstation Move also,
But with already the Grinder, and the strong list of 3rd party's that are signed up already. It may mean that it's worth the time for these 3rd party's to port.I Do infact think that since the Playstation move is very close to how the Wii control scheme interact's between the player and the software, the playstation Move now offer's to 3rd party Wii centric Application's a second platform to offer their software on.
so WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A Wii only Application due to is controll scheme, now can be put on the Playstation 3 and with some tweak's maybe even the xbox360.
this will in all likelyhood of course help the Wii, because it just make's it more enticing for the 3rd parrty to put the same software across all 3 platform's instead of just 1, or 2 at a time.

I'm hoping that since they only showed us 10 games and they have 20 in development that they were just trying to show us how 'easy' they can imitate with the wii demos and saving their innovative or at least more interesting stuff till later so it can't be copied.
Where is my Ape Escape 4 dammit!
I think Sony is large enough that if Europe focused on Move games and the occasional hardcore titles we wouldn't see much of a difference in the release of "Core" vs "Casual" Having all that 1st party should make it rather easy to cater to both crowds.
its all about the natal for me
playstation MOVE right along with you crapy copy of the WII
When the Dual Analog came out for the PS1, many games had a configuration for the original and analog controller. The only "Must Use Dual Shock" game didn't come for years (Ape Escape). Still, even the games that weren't analog still functioned with the Dual Analog/Dual Shock. It was a good move.
I assume many upcoming games will feature a "Playstation Move" configuration, too. Maybe even some older games will be patched to use the device. I just don't know if that's the best way to market the device as a must have. Part of me thinks that this is just technology that exists just so Sony can say, "We have the technology". Anything that the Wii and 360 will be able to do, the PS3 will technically be able to do, too. But the games that are Move Only won't move huge numbers because it's a peripheral. It will be limited to only those that own the peripheral. Any game that is useable with both the Move (I preferred "Arc") and the Dual Shock 3 will probably have a legion of gamers who think, "If I can use a DS3, why do I need to buy a Move?" I think Nintendo did it best when they decided that the Wii Remote/Nunchuck would be the ONLY source of input for most games. Using a controller wasn't even an option.
This is Sony's battle to win or lose. I'm sure some sort of strategy is in place. Plus, playing a game like RE4: Wii Edition on an HD console is a dream come true. The Move definitely isn't a bad thing. I just can't figure out how it will be a HUGE thing.
| IronArcher said: Sony's been working on motion control for quite some time (remember the Eye Toy? and other applicaitons) and I think that the Playstation Move is a culmination of years of work in this area to try and bring something worthwhile to the table rather than a forced gimmick. I've owned a Wii but could never understand Nintendo's adherence to dated graphics tech. I can assure you there will likely be games from standout studios like Naughty Dog and Santa Monica Studios that will incorporate the Move and many of the naysayers may have to eat their comments and swallow their pride.

$599..
also, Nintendo has made motion controled games for longer than Sony has even been involved with gaming.

well that's one way of looking at it,
but also did not Nintendo release a ton of peripheral's for the Wii also?
the point be it's more of a controller than changing the entire system to fit one way.
the PS3 will still use DS3 for game's, the point is which was the Wii has game's made for the SYSTEM that used the Control scheme of it's setup.
that's how developer's made the majority of it's game's. Sony is playing to that strength, nintendo 1st party would not port their software on other motion control's of other Machine's, but 3rd party may.
that's why that List that Sony has already released for the Playstation Moves support is saying alot without having to say very much of anything.
by offering another platform those developer's can port those Wii centric Application's over to the PS3 it's now another platform.
It's alway's the Software. I think many are concentrating on IT vs' the Wii instead of what Software may be Made for the Playstation Move.
which we have seen so little of and the Playstation Move is still in it's early stages on software build's I would wait until after E3 at least.
to see any real indication of support software.
