Forums - Gaming - The Real Console Price Comparison

It all just comes down to what a given consumer is willing to pay, really.

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

The article is a joke but most of the things you pointed out are right there in the piece if you actually read it.

They have Natal listed for $100. No controllers necessary.

The 360 includes games, the PS3 does not.

The cabling issue is bizarre. No explanation for that. Besides, anyone who spends more than $3 on an HDMI cable needs to be throat-punched because they are RETARDED.

The Wiimotes are listed under the regular controllers (hence the much higher controller price for the Wii).

Sony did set themselves up for this with multiple retarded price comparison charts. Blame Sony for this and not some poor article writer.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

There probably will be price cuts for the 360 and the PS3 by the end of the year anyway, so I assume the prices for the 360+Natal or PS3+Move will not be much above the console prices right now. (I think 360+Natal will be around $300, PS3+Move around $350)

ok its time to refute some of this nonsense

1) HD cables do not cost 30,50, and 70...wii component cables i got for $15 and HDMI cables range from $10-$120 so $50 and $70 are nonsense
2)yes the 360 comes with a game and so does the wii, and if you shop in the right place you can get a ps3 bundle too
3)sony motion controllers were said to be *under $100 dollars and came with an eyetoy which you only need one of and a game meaning the controller itself will not be $100...you do not need 4 eyetoys and 4 of the same game packaged with the psMove
4)do all ps3 games cost $60? no in fact there are a bunch of good games priced at $30 now and if you shop the right way you can get them cheaper (ebay, used, overstock.com)
5)360 wifi adapter is $100 but you can buy the old one for $80
6)30% of the wii owners will be selling once the new motion control systems ---just checked and that's out of 180 votes on a hardcore gaming forum...won't make a difference at all
7)the first article is from 2006...what year is it again?
8)you're basing the natal price on michael pachter's guess. I enjoy michael pachter's gaming analysis but that doesn't mean it is correct at all. although odds are it is close
9)last i checked you do not need to buy 4 controllers for any console if you have friends. friends always have at least one extra controller to bring over. same will go for natal and psMove

here's a glimpse of how I purchased my ps3

ps3 slim with rachet and clank: a crack in time and little big planet goty edition - $300
fifa 10 - $35
Metal gear solid 4- $30
resident evil 5- $20
grand theft auto 4-$15
folklore-$15
2- 6foot HDMI cables and a surge protector -$50 (i definitely paid too much for this)

total-$465 (+ tax/shipping so about $500) for ps3, 7 games, HD unlocked and surge protector

try shopping online with ebay, overstock.com and other websites. also look for holiday bundles. all of these will save you so much money...

Ps fanboys are so funny, can't even take a joke this is b/c of that bullshit price comparison that sony did a while ago.

But yeah, at the end we'll compare prices and the ps3 will still be the most expensive out of all

but honestly, who buys more than two controllers? and 4 motion controllers also feels a bit unnessecary as most people would only buy 2

no idea how to make this properly work

LOL god damnit i walked right into a troll didn't I?

@Kavitron Again, a few years back sony pulled out a chart like this, saying that for the wii you will need 4 complete controllers to fully enjoyed the console.

@heywoodjablome Yes you did, but i'll forgive you for the awesome pic that you have badass movie, and one of my favorites scenes from it

Id love to see 4 people in a small room playing with any of these motion devices.

Might as well add hospital visits for these "4" person playing experiences.

"Now with the introduction of the Sony Move and Microsoft Natal around 30% of the Nintendo faithful have claimed they will be selling their Wii and getting the another form of entertainment."

you lost me right there......1) if they are selling their wiis they are not Nintendo faithfuls and 2) 65 people on vgchartz does not equal an actual 30% of wii owners

however, good graph though
