You know you're Belgian when:

You immediately know what the letters BHV stand for >_>
I know where my vote goes to next elections! (No, not Vlaams Belang, they're fools)

The reason why the UK doesn't really feel connected to Europe is probably because if you look at the history of the UK they've always made sure not a single state would get too powerful on the European continent. A really tiresome job if you ask me!

lol we didnt want any1 else to get too powerful but i was ok for the british empire to become the most powerful empire ever!!

No one could stop them :P

After the English defeated the Armada 'invencible' in 1588 they pretty much dominated the seas.

They still had the Dutch to worry about later on.

It is interesting though that England has always been the biggest rival for any leader who would want to dominate Europe.

Hmm, really? I certainly don't think of Nazi's when I see the German flag. Especially because das dritte Reich had a different flag lol. That said, I don't know which flag is from Belgium and which one is from Germany. Haha, always mess those two up >_>

lol the strips go in differnt directions, belgium top to bottom and germany left to right

Its the other way around :D

German flag                        Belgian flag

But ppl only hang a flag is when the national team plays.

how is it the other way round? what i said was right

I thought you meant horizontal and vertical stripes, my English fails me sometimes.

haha thats cool man

but your from belgium and u dont no your own country's flag ??

what is more sad though is that the prime minister doesn't even now the national anthem and just sang the French one.

Is there anyone who can sing their national anthem?

I sure as hell can't.
I do know our national motto though "eendracht maakt macht" which is pretty ironic if you know what's going on in Belgium today. I love irony, even more so then sarcasm.
