That really sucks. Maybe they should have put the game on 4 discs instead?

Just to be sure we're all talking about the same things, i took a quick video with my phone. the quality is low, but you should be able to see what i'm talking about: The random geometric shapes that appear on the screen. You can probably see it most clearly in the last few seconds in the close up of Hope.

I'm aware of the issues with compression, just wondering if this is what they look like for everyone else.

The video quality is too poor to notice anything!
You mean that stuff that was showing up to the right side of his head?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

these white/bright spots appearing/disappering? .. hmm can be due to compression as well, but if sth. like that happened the comparisons surely would've mentioned that, so it might be a problem with your disc
Update: so I uninstalled the game from my hard drive and the problem seems to have cleared up.
ok, that probably means the video files were damaged while you were copying them to the hdd

Yeah this is why i think there may be something wrong with my disc specifically. If what i'm experiencing were par for the course as far as the 360 version goes, I can't see how it wouldn't have gotten savaged by reviewers for it. Just got to disc 2 and i'm having the same problems so i think i'll be making a trip to gamestop tomorrow.
uhh, sad to hear the problem persists after all ..
I personally can't believe 2 separate discs are having the problem, so I guess the problem is located somewhere in your machine (maybe dust on the laser or the gpu having hiccups while decoding videostreams or sth. else). And yea, reviewers probably would've gone in a rage over this (or at least I would as someone who really enjoys watching CGs), so I don't think it's a general problem with FF13 360.
