It's GDC 2010 week and game companies usually reveal some new announcements during the event. Tonight, Sony will be holding their GDC conference and they are expected to make several new announcements that will make lots of news. With the main focus being on their motion controller, we'll hear an official listing of developers that are supporting the new peripheral and, likely, hear about some new games. Since the motion controller was introduced last year, we haven't heard or seen much of it again. A handful of titles were shown using the controller like Resident Evil 5 and LittleBigPlanet.

Geoff Keighley recently posted on his Twitter account: "Lots of Sony news at GDC later today. The motion control becomes a reality."

What kind of news we'll hear about the motion controller is yet to be determined, but with E3 just several months away, too, the real question will be what will Sony show here and hide for E3? A wireless nunchuck has been confirmed by developers, so it's likely we'll see that appear tonight.  Perhaps we'll get an official name tonight for the device, though. We'll bring you all the latest happenings from the Sony GDC conference later this evening.

i thought it was yesterday! (made stay up at night =/ )

god i hope that isn't the final design for Gem/Arc/Move

I take this unveiling as two things from Sony:

1. They are trying to get this out of the way because it would probably go to be over shadowed by Natal at E3.

2. Sony has to announce their 2nd half lineup for this year at E3 and is expecting bigger motion control games there.

It's probably the best Motion Device out there.
The way I see it'll work (different from Natal) and not only that it'll probably work better than the Wii Motion. Looks impressively precise!

So I'm actually, for the first time ever, excited on PS3 possibilities.
Let's wait for the games - and pricing too obviously!

A "non-PS3 fan" excited about the Sony's motion control "rip-off"? That's new for me.

I don't like the fact that Sony is putting effort on the motion control market, they should focus on what they're good at (pleasing me). But the Arc is starting to get me interested. I want to see what it's capable to do and what games Sony's got up their sleeves.

The time to start telling people about your end of year lineup is now, not E3.  E3 is when you start hyping the next year.

Just look at Microsoft's X10 and Nintendo's Media Summit.  Basically everything from the two has been announced save Zelda, and even then Nintendo has said like 10 times that they are going to announce it and its coming this year. 

Sony's GDC conference should focus on Arc, 3D, and their line up for the remainder of the year (particularly the part of their line up that'll back up those two, like the rumored Killzone 3). 

This GDC sould be their biggest since 2007 (when LBP and Home were announced), since they've seemingly skipped their Destination PlayStation conference this year, which is usually held in February (and which was where LBP and MS were announced for PSP last year).

I'd say it won't be as precise as Wii motion plus but at least games won't look like crap.

I also thought it was yesterday, I woke up at 3AM to check the news.
