The iPod/iPhone/iMac were all doubted just like you're doubting the iPad. Go back to the archives and there was nearly identical criticisms. I'm not saying that the criticisms aren't valid, but Apple has a way triumphing despite all of it.

I'm not saying Apple will dominate, but you have to be silly to say they aren't one of the major forces in networked services.

The iPod,iPhone not iMac (not the same level of success) were all much better than what you could get from anywhere else at the time of release.

The iPad doesn't have a form factor as good as the Courier nor the features of the Slate. Apple is actually facing competition upon release which is why I cast doubt upon the iPad.

No way. When the iPod launched there was a ton of criticisms about it. I don't even know where to start there was so much. The same goes for the iMac and the iPhone. Do a google search, it's there.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

The fact that you don't care doesn't matter really. Gaming is just one avenue for these services. The average consumer wants convenience, portability and transportability.

It does matter, if they can't get a gamer like me to care about their games service coming to other plaforms how will they get some chick of the street to give up her iphone ?  Gaming is a sure bet for thsoe services, everything else is not.  Mostof those other things are pointless.

Yes yes yes, and Andriod or Apple are much better at that.

Its not a war between PSN Live, its more a struggle for survival.

You are the kind of gamer everyone is learning they need to ignore. People spend more time playing Farmville than they will ever spend playing the entire library of Sony PS3 games. Hardcore gaming is pointless, everything else is not.

I know they were criticised, but the critics have also learnt as well.

Whats the point in an E-reader where you cannot even finish a small book before it runs out of power?

I still don't see any business use for it, the Courier and Slate do that aspect better.

It still can't multitask, so no music and IM, or music and web browsing at the same time.

With the iPod and iPhone, seeing was believing, but people are already familiar with the interface and OS so question the need for something bigger. This isn't out of left field unlike Apples other offerings and it can already be compared to what is available or what will be available shortly.

Most people just read for a few minutes before going to bed. They might also check the weather or read a magazine. The iPad is well suited for casual use.

It's not a product designed primarily for business anymore than the other Apple products.

It still can't multitask, so no music and IM, or music and web browsing at the same time.

This is a first generation product, this can change. There were plenty of things the iPod couldn't do that other competitive products could, that didn't stop the long term success. For example, USB or video. Eventually those features were added.

None of the competive products are entrenched. Most average people don't even know what the slate or courier exist. They do know about the iPad however.

Hardcore gamers buy hardware they buy games.  They spend thousands of $$$$$ on their gaming.  What you are talking about is free and in no way comparable to PS3 gaming, nor is it relevent to the discussion.  You just ran out of things to say.

Yahh PSN on cameras aint pointless, sure bud.

Don't forget about Google

Trying to keep it simple and relevant. Think of how many pages I would have to go to if I listed Apple and Google and whomever else, probably Steam too.

Well on that note, do you have more information on PSN on VAIO computers?  Are we talking about something intergrated into the hardware of the VIAO or just software?

Just software, PSN is just a software layer after all.

If thats the case, there is no need to say "PSN on VIAO computers" when any computer could run it.

yup..thare was quite a bit. now look at apple go 24% of the mobile smartphone  cellphone market in under 4 year's. that is quite impressive

no matter how you cut that Apple is sitting very pretty, Hell it even forced AT&T to upgrade the network because the IPHONE user's were using more bandwidth than AT&T's network could properly handle. that's saying something right there.
