This would indicate two possibilities, either, the Wii userbase is very casual outside of NA, indicating why a more "hardcore" title like Mario posts relatively weak sales, or people are holding off until the holidays to purchase this game

Or it's sold out in many places (which it is). Or it's unreasonable to expect heavily frontloaded sales on a title like this. Or it sold more than 70,000. Or or or or or or...

I'm assuming that the 70K is accurate, which means even if its sold out in some areas its still only 70K overall and more hardcore games do have stronger sales early on with sales dropping in future weeks, so unless its the holiday throwing off sales it doesn't make sense why sales should be this low unless its due to the fact that the demographics are different.

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

What happened to R&C? It fell off a cliff. It fell to 10th on the PS3 chart in the UK. It's getting killed by a wrestling game.

How is it in godsake possible that everytime you see bad sales for SMG that you start about R&C??

If you have a complaint report me. Again with the attacks, just ignore me if you hate me so much, sheesh.

Why does R&C have anyting to do with SMG selling poorly? With those numbers you would think that it was a PS3 title! Seriously, why mention R&C? I think this proves that the Wii is more of a casual console in markets outside the US.

I'll take the case!!!

Nintendo Europe has announced in the past that there will be SMG shortages specifically in UK. Amazon UK sold out of SMG as well.

It wasn't sold out in Gamestation Sheffield on Friday afternoon....they had about 10-15 boxes out (though whether they had the same number of actual games i don't know... I should have asked)

70k seems good to me. It's not Halo, I don't know why you are all complaining. However those 360 games are astonishing.

It has about as much to do as Brain Training, COD4 or AC does. The OP is about the UK market, which includes R&C. Even though the title says SMG, this thread is about UK sales. You're the one making the connection to SMG, not me. Read the original post, it is not specifically about SMG.

It seems that it had an effect (along with holiday shopping) on Wii sales numbers in the Europe. 133K up from 83K last week. If nothing else the SMG stock boost was very welcome.

Well knowing That R&C was never mentioned in ioi's posts you decided to mention the R&C numbers out of nowhere, maybe to throw off the discussion of low sales in SMG's first week. Did anyone ask for those numbers of R&C? Besides you, no one else asked for them.

I didn't see you complaining in any of the other threads not about SMG where SMG sales were mentioned. If you want, I can make a seperate thread about UK R&C sales, would that make you happier?

I love my Galaxy

If this game has legs anything like New SMB, and its first week was 175% of New SMB's first week.... that's gonna be ridiculous.

What you're all forgetting is how powerful Mario's legs are. Methinks it's from his early days as Jumpman. It's gotta be the shoes!
