Forums - Gaming - Girl mistakes gun for Wii controller - kills herself

Germany in the 1930's says no, it's not time to change the gun laws in the US.  If the government thinks it can do anything it wants to its citizens it only takes one bad set of leaders before the decide they will do whatever they want.

What's the name of that law now again? Atkins? No...

Damn, I can never remember even the simplest of names.

There are many ways to change the law that doesn't involve knee jerk Nazi references.
The UK had guns and managed to phase them out save selected individuals.
Same can happen to America and it might not be as bad as people think.

How do they know the girl "mistook the gun for a Wii controller" ?

I mean did the girl explain it after she was dead or what?

My Mario Kart Wii friend code: 2707-1866-0957

I can't bear to read that.

Joking about this really isn't funny. There's a line somewhere.

Well i guess she must have been blind since most handguns aren't white.

Games are evil confirmed.

But in all seriousness this is extremely tragic. I'd like to have a word with the parents, but I'm sure they are in the throes of deep depression.

Everything about this story is terrible

I agree.  I wanted to come in and say, "one less idiot" but reading that it's a 3 year old changed my outlook.

How stupid can people be? How could you let a loaded gun in a living room table?
Poor little child.

A few years ago, a child showed up at the emergency room at my local hospital. He had shot himself in the foot. Two hours later, mom and dad were in jail, charged with reckless conduct. I arrested them. I charged them. Leaving a gun unsecured where a child can get to it is criminally negligent.

This story is tragic. I have a child of my own. I sympathize with the parents but they are at fault.
