Forums - Sony - Button config and wireless nunchuck confirmed for PS Arc

Sounds like way to much stuff on the nunchuk for it to all be useful. I guess I will have to wait for pictures.

I don't see this being expensive at all. Some people already have an Eye and if Sony is smart, they sell Nuchuck + Arc in bundle at 50 bucks. Heck, even 60 bucks would be okay. that's juist the price of a new game. Looking at the numebr of the preorders of games, many people are willing to pay such price. Wiimote + Wii Nunchuck is about the same.

Great insight, you should be in charge of marketing and accounting for Sony. Really how many people own an Eye? 10? They aren't going to sell the nunchunk and arc without the camera. I guarantee this package will be $100 minimum. I'd say count on $150 and packaged with a casual game.

You're not exactly being realistic. Of course Arc and the nunchuck are going to be sold seperately from the Eye. There are already over a million PlayStation Eyes in consumers hands. Sales for EyePet are currently at 440k and Eye of Judgment is at 300k, and then there are all the cameras that have been sold seperately. Futhermore, there is really no way that the cost of an Arc, PSEye, Nunchuck and bundled game would be $150. Most likely Sony will price such a bundle around $75-$100.

maybe the additional nunchuk buttons are there so the consumer can decide wheter he want to press the buttons on the wand or the nunchuk.

It could be better for left handed people.

This is great news. I will buy it definetly if true.

I always liked the wii controls. And I think its a good idea to take a succesful conept like the Wii controls and improve it here and there. Plus the camera also offers functionality which could be useful. Sony probably recognized after the PSeye that controller free gaming is not as cool as they thought.

I can imagine that sooner or later MS will release also something like the Arc/wii mote with Natal as combination. Cant wait for tomorow soon we will get real informations. Hopefully some games for Arc also.

The decision to go for a wii like control is in my eyes a really good one. The PS3 combines hopefully the best out of both worlds.

Could this actually mean that the Wii gets better third party games now? Or will publishers put out trash for Arc too?

It means all those hundreds of 'family/party/whateverz' games that failed on Wii can now get a second chance on PS3.

And best of all, sequels do much better on PS3!

Left handed people could hold the nunchuk in their right hand, just like the Wii controller.

My best guess for having some buttons twice is tradition. 2x the shoulder buttons of the SNES controller, two analog sticks, two rumble thingies (hence Dualshock), six axis instead of just three.

Only one time Sony messed up and that was with teh Cell which has seven SPUs compared to the 360's three cores.

8 Spus but one is not activated and one is locked (just there for seurity stuff)

So ? I was correct.

The Cell has originally 1 PPE and 8 SPEs.

the PS3 Cell has one deactivated (its still there just sometimes defective). And one of the 7 Spu is JUST there for security and runs the OS. Developers have just 6 SPEs for use and thats what I tried to say.

yea it's defective alright.../sarcasm, if you had a security system would you tell people where it's at?

there are 8 spe's one of which is disabled to developer's (that's the security vault) IE: you cannot even dump the reg. key's

because you get no access to it. from outside the vault.

the 7th spe is used for once again yet another layer of security and OS for the PS3

that leaves 6 free and open  to developer's and 1 PPE that's open to developer's

Lol yes I know thats what I wrote before. First time I did not mention the PPE because he was refering to the SPUs. What exaclty do you want to tell me ? 6 Spus are twice as much as 3 cores so I tried to trick him somehow. And hoped he wouldnt mention the PPE. I really dont understand whats this all about.
