If you have either the original DS or DS Lite, it's a good option to buy it.

I have enough DSiWare games on my DSi that I've never really given serious consideration to purchasing a DSiLL. (They wouldn't be transferable to a new handheld, AFAIK.)

I also wonder if the successor to the DS will have screens as large as the DSiLL, and if not how will DSiLL adopters feel about going back to smaller screens?

Anyway, the bottom line for me is that I'm very happy with the screen size (and everything else) on my DSi. The DSiLL certainly looks nice, but for me it is an unneeded 'luxury'.

I picked the Darth makes loves to FF13 one because it's the funniest, but honestly I am intrigued by the XL. Too much money for now, but FlipNote studio really makes me want to upgrade my Lite, and I only carry my DS with me in my work bag, so size isn't that much of an issue.

I've no interest in upgrading. Happy with my DS Lite. I'd rather play retail DS games than DSiware anyway and the small screen is not a big deal. I'm waiting for the DS successor.

Its up to you. But I'm definitely stoked about it and I'm getting it first chance I get. its a no brainer for me. Double sized screen and more features (downloadable games, promise of DSi only games from Nintendo).

If you don't want it now, you can always wait till you finish FFXIII.
