Forums - Gaming - Suda51: Natal is great, Sony's Arc isn't exciting

Bad article, it's 80% of publishers, not developers.. a very different thing.

Sony's Arc is the same thing as Nintendo's Wiimote...seriously..it's a new skin, with a glowing ball at the tip...wow. That's not a new outlook to gaming anymore now that Nintendo has dominated that market, and shown what motion controlled gaming is all about. Natal is controller free, and not only is it a camera, but it works at a microphone also, wtc. That's what Suda means...it's just more of the same with Arc (granted the HD experience, but still..controller wise..the same), while Natal brings a new experience (while not perfect, it's a start at something fresh).

Not really... the Arc is an improvement on the wiimote, Natal is an improvement on the Eyetoy.

^ This. And we have not seen the full potential of the Arc yet, but so far it's the most practical. I dig the idea of Natal but I will till the day I can see someone ACTUALLY play a gamein a normal room (not a uniform plain colored room, no prerendered demos like the E3 Milo etc)

sony tech have face/voice recognition too, and the controller it's just for presition, in eye pet u can scroll for the menu using the hand.

tracks 1-1.

Ooooh, poor suda 51, he had to go and say something non-positive about something that Sony makes. Well, we can put him on the black sheep list for VGChartz now. That's too bad, I think he's got some really creative ideas and he may make something cool, but he's now going to be relegated to Gabe Newell levels here.

Exactly how i feel. I believe arc will really be a flop, natal on the other hand has some potential. I cant say if it will be a hit or miss, but it is a much more exiting product. We'll wait and see

You do know that Arc is also a camera and it also has a microphone ? TBH i cant think of a game that works with natal but not with Arc ?

Also Controller free gaming is a disadvantage alteast for me I need something in my hands. Thats the reason why Nintendo refused Natal before Wii launch.

I think most people underestimate arc time will tell. Arc expectationsare so small natal expectations are sky high. Its way easier for Arc to be a success then for natal. Cant wait for christmas will be a fun time.
