Forums - Sony - My Heavy Rain saved games didn't tranfer...

So I just upgraded to a PS3 slim today since my old one sounded like a jet engine and blue tooth devices didn't really connect to it about 1/3 of the time and the transfer was fairly painless, except one problem-- my Heavy Rain save didn't transfer with everything else.

I've updated my PS3, signed in with my old account, and updated Heavy Rain but I don't have my saved game. Is there any way I can fix this?

I like the game and all but I'm really not in the mood to play through almost the entire game again since I'm assuming I was nearing the end (4/5 trails complete, had just finished the flashback).

I backed up everything on my old PS3 and restored it to the new one and all my other saved games and trophies are there, just not my Heavy Rain save game.

Anyone know how to fix this?  I'm going to try restoring my backup again to see if that helps anything.

Can't help you, but I can tell you're frustrated from the spelling errors in your title and post, these are not typical of you.

What?  Really?

People give me a lot of flak for hating random things having to do with Sony but it's stupid fucking bullshit like this that makes it easy.  If this were a launch title I might understand but the PS3 has been out for three fucking years and every other save game is fine.  It's bad enough they fucked up something as simple as movement like they've never played a game that had a 3D world before but they fuck up saved games this badly too?

What the Hell is their problem?  This game doesn't even have any online components but they're that worried about copying saves to a new PS3?

The sad thing is that I was actually liking this game but fuck them, I guess I'm not even going to finish it because I don't want to go through all that crap again.

Screw this game, I'm done with it.

Calm down.

Protected saves are also transfered so that's not your problem.

Try clicking Triangle on the saved file. If you can select COPY then it is not the file.

If you can just move it manually.

The backup utility does not always work (atleast mine does not) did you try connecting the two consoles via ethernet and transferring that way?

you can transfer the file to the ps3 just not copy it, just move it

Sorry Tommy, the Xbox 360 ones are quite often the same deal. I.E. they won't transfer over.

Do you know what its like to live on the far side of Uranus?

You need an ethernet cable and use to transfer utility. This moves protected files though, and not copy them
