Forums - Gaming - Why Edge rated FFXIII so low!

So you saw Edge's Review of Final Fantasy XIII, but how did they come to this rating? let me explain.

so we need to understand how to imagine Edge as a whole. Edge is a Magazine at first, and what do they need to do? they want to sell those Mags of them.

Darth Vader would say:

but thats not all!

at first, we need to understand them, so lets take older Final Fantasy Review's to make a comparison, for Example FFXII's Rating:

'A work of progressive genius that hauls its staid genre up by the bootstraps and takes its place alongside the WOWs and Oblivions of this world. It's altogether too good to be true.' [Christmas 2006, p.74]. - 90/100

okay, thats a great Score given from Edge there. but lets take a look at a very special thing in this:

'takes its place alongside the WOWs and Oblivions of this world.

so, they're compairing it with World of Warcraft and Oblivion, both RPGs, and both are Rated high from Edge. but lets take a closer look:

It’s a game designed to exhaust the world’s supply of adjectives. It’s a world littered with riches - tiny details sewn into a vast, varied and utterly spectacular canvas. [Sept 2005, p.90]

so we can say that they are very biased towards games of Open Worlds, as noted you can take World of Warcraft as an Example.

so its becoming clear, how they do their criticism for RPGs:

so Edge Rated after the Formula they have in stock for Games like this, and so we can tell:

Square-enix screwed it up by not giving them an Open World. shame on you square.

No, because they only score in complete points (multiples of 10%).

Edge don't score in decimals. They gave it a 9.

metacritic says otherwise, so if they misled me, then fine your right, still 9 is a good score and my point is valid, just wait for resonance of fate to come out, i bet you anything it gets more than FF XIII from Edge that is

That's the aggregate review on metacritic (96), but Edge's review on MC is registered as 90.

And if RoF is open world, then it's safe from Edge's wrath. XD

Interesting the Edge score is up for PS3 but not for 360. Team Xbox also gave it a 5/10, so that unfortunately would have dragged 360's version down below PS3's if Metacritic had put the Edge review up for both platforms.

Weren't you the one bashing the game in every thread and when people called you out on it, you ignored them and went on to respond to a post that you could use to bash the game again? :)

Completely off topic - but seeing that Darth Vader just reminds me of this (which from an audio perspective is not safe for work):
