Now im probably going to be flamed for this given the nature of this site but for those that have actually played both games....do you believe that when ME3 rolls around , ME will be the greatest trilogy in all of gaming?.....keep in mind though that it does thing no other trilogy does(which obviously everyone knows about).

On a side note:I havent had time to play games in general for a long time , but now I do and im loving every second of mass effect 2 right now.The loyalty missions specifically are some of the best gaming experiences ive ever experienced ever so much so infact that this game has become my second favourite game ever (beating out SoTC and right behind OoT).

One thing I think everyone who has beaten the game will agree on is that this is the best cast of characters ever in a video game. You may like another character over one or two ME2 characters......... but character cast vs character cast ME2 beats out any game.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Hmmm, I wouldn't say of all time. While Mass Effect does have an extremely compelling story, probably one of the best Sci-Fi stories in videogames, eventually it will overshadowed whenever Bioware decides to release KOTOR 3.

Plus, as trilogies goes, to me the best will always be SoulBlazer/Illusion of Gaia/Terranigma

well, if the three games need to be in the same gen, then ME might indeed be the best trilogy of the gen... But in the same time, we might very well see Uncharted 3 and/or gears of war 3 in a few years ! Those are serious contenders imo.

If I consider all the gaming history, then it's harder to say... there are not that many great trilogies in gaming after all. I mean, there was only 2 Baldur's gate, there has been 4 MGS, a bunch of Suikoden (and not all were great). There will be three Deus Ex but the disappointing number 2 would unfortunately prevent it to be the best trilogy of all time... Fallout might have something to say I guess, and God of War too. And likely several other series I'm not thinking about right now.
