At first, I felt bad about not getting a mention.

And then I realized that I'm not boring enough to get a mention.
I love all the consoles, and I've had fun with more companies and their system than 99% of gamers. Still, I enjoy being a jerk, I enjoy writing long rants, and I enjoy sticking up for a console that's being picked on. But if that makes me biased, so be it. Everyone is biased. Some people are just better are not having strong opinions. Sorry if I offended anyone, by the way. That's just my aggressive, biased nature.

Look, I can understand not particularly caring about whether or not you're mentioned, that's fine, I completely identify with the idea of sitting outside of all this feel-good hippie hug stuff that's going down here.

But why go so far as to equate the perception of being balanced or unbiased with being boring? Shit, d21lewis is one of the more oft-mentioned members in this topic, is he boring?

It was a joke (which I meant to indicate with the last sentence of my post, to some degree). I meant not boring in the idea that I show strong opinions about different consoles or games (such as having a 10 paragraph argument with Naznatips about GTA4 not being a disappointment, or arguments with others about how FF6 is the best game in the series). As much awesome-sauce as D21Lewis is composed of (and as much as I love the guy), you won't see several-paragraph posts from him arguing this or that about videogames. He's just a fun guy; he doesn't get caught up in big arguments and rants (like I love to do).

Trashleg is both Scottish and unbiased (just like me!). She takes a better picture though.

I think CGI, Commonman, Words of Wisdom, Rainbird, Montana (yes, you're been listed!), Khuutra, Trollian and many others are all unbiased - you know who you are and I'd be here a while listing everyone!

Montana by his own admission is perhaps at times a little too passionate for his own good... but I never feel he's got some huge set bias, merely a bit of any aggressive posting style.

I actually post on this site because I find it the least biases to be on in my own experience. And even folks with a clear preference for a particular console often keep cool and don't show bias unless provoked.

As others have said though, it's impossible not to have some bias, it's just a case of keeping things sensible when posting and not going nuts with the wacky claims.

Ah, group hug!

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Ehhhhhh I wouldn't say that getting into big arguments necesarilly precludes being mentioned in here, either. I think it has more to do with congeniality than anything else.

You know who i just remembered? RolStoppable. That guy can post with the best of them. His articles are not only some of the most memorable staples of the community, he generally delivers unbiased and fair reviews. He's a cool guy and doesn't afraid of anything.

I have to say I'm surprised/honored that I was mentioned. Thanks! I also am surprised this is my most popular thread. I know this has gotten a little huggy, touchy-feely but I'm really proud to be a part of a place like this, because I didn't think that any level of real discussion could happen on the internet and we get it here on a fairly regular basis. And we need our passionately biased people just as much as our more level-headed people, because it would get boring just agreeing with each other all the time!

selnor and godofwar34ever come to mind lol

"even a dead god still dreams"

Still, it would be rather boring in the forums if every poster was completely unbiased.

The extremely biased posters swing from the very irritating to the downright amusing.

I agree with this. Honestly, I couldn't be bothered to even check any of the charts on VGChartz anymore. It's the only gaming forum I'm aware of that has a fairly congenial community. There seems to be a sense of intellectual responisbility here where, for the most part, people are held accountable for what they say in a less-aggressive-than-typical way (as opposed to other popular gaming communities).

As to your second point, I'd have to agree with that as well. Some of the more blatantly biased members make for some amusing moments.
