Forums - Gaming Discussion - Game Rankings Vs. Metacritic

You include only games released in the last 1-2 years, and you will find the rankings of both the sites fairly close.

I much prefer Gamerankings, however, metacritic get credited on game covers at stores.

Metacritic since I do not like game rankings site.

Come on. This is too civil.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

I perfer metacritic. Gamerankings is probably more accurate... but Metacritic is set up way better.

I can see the end summary of every review and click on the ones that look like they have the most interesting things to say about games.

Since i don't pay as much attention to the review scores as i do wanting to know what was liked and disliked about games it suites me more.

Yeah, the fact that Metacritic lists a summary of each review is extremely helpful. You get a nice little cross section of an important part of each writer's opinion. I like the weighting system that Gamerankings has better, but the summaries really push the net benefit in Metacritic's favor.

Hates Nomura.

I can't stand game-rankings >< their site is just too painfull on the eyes :( I feel like I'm going to Game-FAQ's sister site every time lol.

And I DEFINATELY agree with you goose, the little exerpts are so friggin awesome. I love reading the reviewer's final statements.

I like Metacritic better.. they also do movies which is cool.

Not only that, but metacritic is usually quoted from industry people such as Ngai Croal (sp?)

What about Rotten Tomatoes?

By the way, I like Metacritic, but there are too many games missing... Where's Sonic Adventure? Where's Crash Bandicoot 1 and 2?
