OT: PS3 not gonna overhaul 360 in Others that quickly. It "only" beat 360 by 36K last week at that rate it'll take about 5 weeks to get past 360. I don't think GoW III or FFXIII are gonna have that big an effect in Others is it?

OT: Maybe you are right, and maybe GOWIII and FFXIII wont have that big an effect(although I guess we'll have to wait for the numbers to know for sure), but it doesnt matter. Europe (baring the UK) is more inclined to by ps products rather than Xbox products. It maybe massive fanboyisme, and a sign of "stupidity".

Still one can argue that every region has its fanboyisme, be it with the xbox in the us or the ps in Japan. Even if the xbox where to be the more "reasonable" choice, european would have still bougth more ps3's. However seeing how close the race is between the 2, alot of people bougth the Xbox 360 when it was both the cheapest and best (with regards to game) console in europe. Now that sony offer is at least as good (from my point of view, of course) as that of microsoft, I just assume it will always sell more, except of course for big xbox exclusives.

Halo: Reach will cause a spike, but probably won't have the same impact Halo 3 had.

 

GT5 is a brand new entry into the PS3. Besides, it has NASCAR (America) and Super GT (Japan) licenses, as well as the WRC license (INT), so it can easily shift many systems.

hmmm point noted, that is something to watch closely

GT5 is well rounded, it will give something to everyone who enjoys racing games and so much more which words cannot do justice, GT5 is going to set the standard for the racing genre this generation.

we're speaking about europe. Here halo reach wont reach even 3 million and GT5 will reach 5 million easily. And of course, GT5 is the first GT for PS3 and reach the third halo for the 360

Actually GT5:P was the first GT for PS3

Its not a real GT though.

This seems to be the common thought, of which I agree with. I can't help but notice some of the Sony fans chanting things like FF13, ignoring the fact that it is also on the 360. While I see PS3 FF13 outselling 360 FF13 in others, I don't see it helping to make a huge decisive push on either side. GoW3 might, but I'm using that to shrink the PS3 window from 3-4 to a solid 3.
