I wonder if Midway, well I guess it would Warner Brothers now, could get in on the act. This game came out in 1996.

oh god, i got that game with my 3DO , and it sucks.

a crappy Mortal Kombat like game with mythological Gods fighting Gods.

I actually agree with both points

I mean come on War of the Gods is a total copy of God of War (in terms of the title) so there's no way that can fly.

Then having a car combat game called Scrap Metal isn't quite as blatant a copy, but its still pretty close to Twisted Metal.

I say MS shouldn't get sued, but be forced to change both titles.

Who cares let them have "war of the gods" but if the game is trying to copy GOW3 it will fail so hard its not even funny.

Jaffe is talentless egomaniac hack.

Which popular games have you made recently?

Right, because only successful game designers can critize other game designers.

Try harder.

what tekk wrote wasn't a critique, it was a baseless, un-called for, unsubstantiated and unjustified inflamatory bashing.

even if it was his opinion.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't warned by a mod for that.

agreed.

And that justifies your comment how?

MS should sue 20th century Fox for making a little movie called avatar. :D

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Its the same with the ipad or other products, just because it uses some name doesn't give anyone the right to sue it as long as its original.

                                       That's Gordon Freeman in "Real-Life"

pretty sure that sony wouldnt bring any law suit against microsoft, it would go like this

Sony Game Department (SGD) : Can we sue Microsoft for making a game that could be like any other
Sony Corporation (Sony) : Um no, we would rather not lose millions and millions of potential dollars with the x amount of deals away from your small industry

haha yeah that's true, it would be entertaining to see it flop.

I agree that scrap metal is nearly identical to twisted metal. Not only are they very similar in meaning, but the context is that of describing car wreckage. It's the same kind of gameplay too.
Would anyone agree any more if it was called "Distorted Metal" or warped/deformed...etc etc.

What about a platformer about a robot-dude that fights a scientist titled megaguy. I'm sorry, but people sweeping this under the rug are a little naive.

I dont think they are sweeping it under the rug.

They are just saying its got about as much chance as a snowball in hell.

I agree with them. It wont go to court and if it does it will be dismissed in two seconds flat.

Jaffe should just content himself that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Plus SONY are standing on some fairly shaky ground regarding their (IMHO opinion) near wholesale rip off of the Nintendo Wiimote and Acheivements !

Whats that saying about people in glass houses ?
