I wonder how much sales has to do with it -- especially vis-a-vis the EA version of the game on the PS3/X360.

NHL 10 vs. 2K10 on PS3: 360k vs. 60k
NHL 10 vs. 2K10 on X360: 480k vs. 90k
NHL 10 vs. 2K10 on Wii: DNE vs. 250k

In other words, EA did not do a Wii game, so you had to get the 2K for hockey on the Wii this year.

This doesn't surprise me. EA NHL crushes NHL2K on the HD systems but so far EA has been happy to let 2K have the Wii all to itself.

Despite what this site shows NHL2k9 on Wii was a big seller (relative) which is why Wii became the flagship version with 2K10. All TV ads (It was heavily advertised in Canada) showed women (yes women) playing the Wii version.

Now if 2K would only give MLB2K the same treatment they do hockey it'd sell just as well (or better since Baseball is bigger in the US)

Good riddance, their hockey game was shit on the HD systems anyway, crap graphics, and bugs that made them unplayable. I live in Canada and the wii version was also advertised all over the place on TV, and with no EA game they were forced to buy the 2k version, i feel sorry for all wii owners.

First they came after the kid games and you didn't say anything because you aren't a kid, then they came after the party games and you say you didn't care about those either, then they came after the sport games and you say "meh these one aren't really good", then they came after YOUR game and you had nothing left to play.

Yeah definitely. Especially with all of those high quality third party titles that have blessed the Wii since launch. It's amazing how the industry has rallied around the fastest selling console in video game history.  I think the most heart-warming thing about this generation is how all of that profit is spread all over the industry instead of just 1 company.

Also Army of Two and Gears of War are clearly not ultra homoerotic.
