Forums - Sony - Transfering PS3 data

I recently got a new 320GB HDD for my ps3, but have stumbled accross a problem....

My save data for 3 of my games (AC2, SFIV & Heavy Rain) wont copy onto my USB stick to backup for when i want to transfer them back over to the new HDD. Is there away around this?

As far as i know game save data is the only thing i need to back up as everything else (DL games, installs etc) can be reinstalled. Just to make sure is this correct?

Please help??

Can't it be done with the backup feature?

This, you can backup your ps3 using the backup data option.  this will also back up your copywrited saves and as long as you are just swapping hard drives you will be fine

How big is the memory stick? You could just run a back-up if it has enough space.

16GB

I would try and run the back up utility then. I am not sure if it will work. 16 GB seems like plenty of space to download the saves.

its says my USB stick needs 27GB more space, lol. what the hell does this option transfer?

It transfers all the data from your HDD onto the memory.

you could always try deleting some game data (installs) it should lessen the amount needed to backup. you will just have to reinstall again after the new hard drive is in....just make sure to delete game data and NOT save data
