Forums - Gaming - Destructoid gives Deadly Premonition perfect score

Deadly Premonition is beautiful. No, not graphically. Graphically it's atrocious. It's a beautiful trainwreck, and it's well aware of the fact. Despite this game being quite like everything ever made, there's nothing quite like the game itself. There is absolutely nothing in this industry that can compare to how weird and wonderful the whole experience is. Judged as a piece of entertainment, as a game that consistently surprises and amazes and leaves jaws hanging, I have no choice but to say that Deadly Premonition goes above and beyond. This game is so bad, it's not just become good. It's pretty close to perfect.

10/10

Neogaf impressions:

I'm really digging this game

I'm digging it big time

It's...weird. Like, Suda 51 weird
awesome despite the mediocre DC/PS2/XBOX-level of visuals...just fucking awesome.
This game is amazing.
Holy fuck this is refreshing and very Twin Peaks.

Also, it's $20. I may have to pick this up now that I've ripped through Heavy Rain, I'm just going to go on a limb and assume this would be quite a change of pace.

Such awesome news, we are getting multiple threads on the game.

All PS3 owners who also own 360s, and want to make the 360 look bad... BUY THIS GAME! Actually, if you don't own a 360, and just a PS3, buy this game. It is your job to have Deadly Premonition outsell Alan Wake!

YES YOU CAN!

lol @ how the comments exclude the gamecube in reference to the visuals

guys destructoid gave this 10/10 but IGN gave it 2/10 lolz?

I'm more interested by the fact that how it's a detriment to Wii games if they "only" look like PS2 games, but now that it's on HD systems, it's suddenly okay, and even good? And people wonder why I don't trust reviewers to do anything fairly...

didnt u read my post? i said destructoid is trolling cuz IGN gave it a 2/10 :P

jim sterling is such a troll and very unprofessional imo.
Isn't this like only the second perfect score of the year or something like that?

It's a great game, granted. I just got to the cutscene in his preview, which is about 10-15 minutes into the game... but the programming is seriously lacking. Just in the first area with the kids you have to look at every item and I had a huge problem with trying to look near the bench. Observe kept appearing and disappearing.

On top of that, at the part where you have to hold your breath, the icon is pulsing, but you're supposed to hold it down. Jim, however, complained that buttons were pulsing on the screen for heavy rain and he didn't know whether he should be tapping it or holding it. But he never mentions this in his review.

I think I may just get this game

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

you really need to. But keep in mind, this game is no 10. It's great and entertaining, but it does not match a real 10 game.

For the price though, you do need it. I was going to import it from Japan, but I'll probably wait now. It seems like this game will be a huge success and they'll port a ps3 version (hmm someone should definitely do a screenshot comparison lolol)
