Ew, always hate reviews where the overall is outside of the range of all the components. Not a fan of the "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" argument as far as review go. If the overall score is that high one of the components should be the reason, otherwise you're missing some component that does make the overall go that high.

youre right, but the mag scores Graphics, Sound, Controls and 'Overall', so the Mechanics and the Motivation are not scored with their own number, they are in the final one.

It looks stupid I agree (9,8,9 & then 9.4 as the final score)

but ye know the final score probably includes the story's score into it too, they loved the story (like most reviewers) so that probably bumped it all up.
