GH3 is too expensive (and I'm not really into it) for me to consider. Rock band will be even more crazy expensive, and take even more space up in our living room. And I suck musically :)
If they bring out a cheaper Wii version next year - I may consider.

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

9.5 | Presentation Musical themes are expertly woven into the very fabric of the game. Great options for everyone from beginners to experts.
7.0 | Graphics Better than the PS2 version, but nothing special. Flashing lights can cause dizziness.
9.5 | Sound A few covers are a bit off, but the whole package is simply superb. Reworked audio makes it even better than the PS2 version.
9.0 | Gameplay Simple, addictive, and universally fun.
9.5 | Lasting Appeal With downloadable tracks and a boatload of songs, this game will keep on giving.
9.4 | OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average) |

10 | Presentation Simply amazing. The Band World Tour offers a fantastic new take on a career mode for a music game. The on-stage antics are above and beyond anything from Guitar Hero.
8.0 | Graphics The character models are nice and the 40+ venues have excellent detail.
9.0 | Sound Some of the 45 tracks offered are really not that great. But everything sounds good and having the crowd signing songs with you is an awesome experience.
9.0 | Gameplay There's no doubt that many of the guitar sections are meant for a more casual audience. The drums and vocals make up for this though. Band World Tour is solid.
9.5 | Lasting Appeal There are only 45 licensed tracks, and not all of them are great songs. But the BWT has legs and the upcoming downloadable content should extend the lifespan considerably.
9.4 | OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average) |
Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses
"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

thats alot of money
Rock Band is created by Harmonix (the people behind GH1 & 2)
GH3 is not by Harmonix, Which is why I think Rock Band will be better.

Never said it wasn't.
It could be $400. That won't make me want it any less.
