It won't. But that doesn't mean that the PS3 loses or anything. There are varying degrees of success. Sales is just one of them.

I really hope thats a joke. A company can't rely on one region if its having a poor performance 2 other regions compared to compitition.

If Sony can reach mass market price for the PS3 in the US and perhaps find some form of killer app for the US (even though time's almost up for this) as soon as possible, perhaps late 2011.

keep in mind the sony will keep support for the ps3 going much longer than microsoft will for the 360. they still support the ps2 to this day and it will be no different with the ps3

I'm sure a year after the new xbox comes out microsoft will probably not even make 360's anymore and drop it all together like they did the first box

also keep in mind that the ps3 is the best blu ray player in the market. in a year or 2 when the price drops to $200 and blu ray and HD are the standard in most houses expect to see many more consoles sold

it's possible this year. But I wouldn't bet on it.

to what? cutting arcade to 99$, 199$ elite it's probably their last move, even so, sony later will counter it, and have a bigger boost.
