Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does anyone actually perfer EA basketball games to 2K basketball games

I've played both... even bought both recently, though not their most recent versions.  (Both 08 versions of college hoops...)

and the 2K version just KILLS the EA version in my opinion... just in overall gameplay, features and the way it does it's legacy modes.

There really isn't a positive i'd put in the EA category except for the ESPN tie in.

I mean, is there some stuff with the gameplay, or Legacy mode I'm missing with the EA version or is just 2K better?

2K is pretty much better in every sport.
Only reason Madden is this popular is because there is exclusivity. If not, 2K would own that too.

Yeah, i perfer 2K in baseball too... though the Basketball difference was the biggest one i noticed.   Besides with baseball ironically I find Power Pros a far better game then both... it's too bad they didn't localize the newest one and instead went with the walking bombfest that was Baseball blast.

Why waste money on a completly new game and MLB liscense when you could of just translated and repackaged a game with a built in fanbase?

2k basketball games since 06 have been better, i get the 2k one every year. I don't know anyone that owns EA or Sony title that actually bought it, (instead of a gift). 2k versus The Show in baseball is a no contest though. The Show kills it in pretty much every way.

EA is better at football, (no competition). If there was competition, Madden would be 10x better than it is today.

2k is the God of Basketball right now, although EA is getting closer it is still an inferior product.

Sony is the King of Baseball with the Show.

These facts are indisputable.

the biggest sport game fifa, is done better by EA, granted it was just in the last 2 years where they have started this change

2K doesn't even make a soccer game do they? Is Fifa really they way to go? I see people pretty evenly split I which is better. One of the reasons I haven't picked up a soccer game yet. That and I'm a bit confused as to which games have which teams and features like franchise mode etc and which would hold something i could use to create a world cup.

Last Soccer game I owned was FIFA 2005, so I can't really comment on that.

mvp baseball WAS the best baseball game and that was made by EA, they just lost the license and stopped making it. The show is also better than 2k. Hell, i'd rather play mvp power pros than MLB 2k series.

Live series sucks now as always, anything is better than that.

Madden just has no competition.

Fifa is getting better, i haven't tried all the new ones so i'm not totally sure about it.
