The PS3 is only a little over a third of the way towards 100M. I don't see how it'll make it with all the competition out there.

I'm certainly no expert, and no one knows what the future will hold for the rest of the generation, but I really don't see the PS3 hitting 100 million. I'd say 75-80 million is more likely.

Depends.. how much years do we have in this generation anyways? if the ten year plan is true.. then yeah i suppose.

They are at 35.9, of course they will hit 100 million units. When the $200 price drop happens in 1-1 1/2 years, people will scoop it up like candy. PS2 sold majority with a $200 price drop. Also they will get to 50 million with their $249.99 price drop which I think happens in around fall. Before Move and GT5 for sure.

Its very possible

1. by the end of fiscal 2010(march 2011) there ll be 42,43 millions and thats 4 years on market(in eu it was launched in 2007)

2. at 199$ we ll see easily 16-20 millions per year, i believe this ll happen in 2011,2012,2013 depending when we see price cut(my guess september 2011)

I know a lot of people with wii,360 or pc who wants ps3 but 300$ is still too much for another platform

by 2013 there ll be about 80 millions at least ps3 out there, new gen ll roll out but for another few years sony ll manage to sell another 20 millions, why not

i see 100 mil xbox first rather than ps3,

if ps3 go to 200USD, MS easily drop the price too, remember it is just recently ps3 sonsole price give sony some profit

it is as easily as this, ps3 go to 199, xbox arcade goes to 129.

We'll have to wait and see how much PS3 will sell at $249 and at $199 to be able to give a sensible prediction, at the very least we'll have to wait and see how much it will sell during the year after the drop to $199. If it will sell more than 60M in less than 6 years from its launch, 100M will be possible (with at least a cut down to $149 or less for its last 2-4 years).

But there are still too many "ifs", we can't really answer now.
