At least they aren't as bad as this:

Yes, that is the actual cover art for the Konami's Best Dawn of Sorrow case.  It's a cover of the cover of Dawn of Sorrow.

Yeah, that does look bad. I like how they made the JP best of version a bit better.

Not much better.

It's like if you're standing in a neck high pool of piss and someone threatens to start dropping a bucket of shit on your head what do you do?  Is it better to dunk your head in the piss or let them drop the crap on your head?

(thanks to the Nerd for the analogy)

Yeah, but at least it's not a cover of a cover, hehe. Well I have the original cover on my copy, so I'm happy about that. Most best of covers look bad, there's not really much people can do about it.

It's nice if they have reversible covers though. For example, my "best of" copy of Castlevania (PS2) has the best of cover on one side, but you can flip the thing over and the original cover is on the other side of the sheet in the dvd case.

I dislike platinum/greatest hits cover so I usually try to get the original game when it is at greatest hits price before the greatest hits copies arrives. The red PS3 case is awful.

ahah I do the same thing.

That's why I bought Assassin's Creed, Oblivion, Burnout Paradise and Ratchet: ToD.

lol i picked up AC and R&C that way too hahaha

I dont know what the big deal is, I buy the game for the content on the disc, not the cover.

I actually like the 360 Platinum hits covers

Besides the best selling things on it :-/

Because when you're not playing the game the disc has to sit somewhere.  A big pack of CD's looks silly (thought it would solve my space problem)  and I'm too anal to leave my discs sitting out so they must have cases.

Well I guess it would be a problem if I just had all my game thrown about,  but mine are either stacked up or on a bookshelf.  Which means all I see is the edge.  But I guess if that big of a problem, stop being cheap and buy the game when it has the "good case".

Buy the game. Take it home. Open the case. Put the BD/DVD in the console. Put the case away. Play the game.

That's what I do and I never have to worry about what the case looks like. It could be a blank white paper with the title of the game written in crayon for all I care... as long as I get the game.

Because SCEE hates us. I'm not sure why.
