Sony copying Nintendo shortage tactics, confirmed?

Why?  They already copied their wiimote :P

Thats true!

Did nintendo copy atari when atari created video games?

No Atari copied Ralph Baer, Nintendo was the driving force behind arcades. However Nintendo may have been inspired by Pong but they didn't copy the games. Nintendo created platforming and created fresh IP's and controller interfaces. Nintendo has never ever really copied anyone.

No need to ship out a whole bunch of them. The holiday season is over so shipping is low at the moment. I still see PS3's at the stores I go to but more Wii's and 360's so more people are buying PS3's no dought about that. Why is people scared over nothing? Sony know what they doing. The PS1 and PS2 wouldn't be where they was then is Sony didn' know what they doing.

it's not just Sony... it's all three

Well I cannot find a PS3 anywhere online or off. Amazon says shipping in 1-2 months. If someone finds one in the US please post here, thanks.

Why such anxiety? PS3 will be alive until 2017. This is only the beginning of a much biger scheme. PS3 sales will rise skyhigh in due time.

I can get a 120 gb PS3 within 5 minutes at any time of my day. I'm pretty sure Canada is not out of stock...

Stop shopping online people and actually go out in the sunlight for a change.

Sony is holding back supply to stimulate demand!

that or just another reason to get a 360?? :O

Seriously though, it's probably a sign of a new model incoming. Or just a new internal design.

Sony shortages are nothing compared to Nintendo ones. And you don't see much discussions about Wii sales.

People should stop bitching about this and making it seems like PS3 could sell way way way way more if it had no shortages,

which I'm yet to see official confirmation from various retailers (not Sony PR bullshit statements or your local Gamestop random employee) that indeed PS3 is in several shortages worldwide.

The 120GB Slim is currently on 1-2 month backorder from Amazon, even though each household is limited to only one console purchase.

Gotta hate that PR bullshit
