This. For every gen that I can remember, the devs always say, "we need more ram, we need more ram" after about 2 years. Hopefully next gen everyone listens and when they say like, "1 gb would be great" they add in two 2gb or something way higher. RAM is getting dirt cheap. They should go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to this aspect.

I had always wished the PS3 shipped with 512MB dedicated XDRAM instead of 256MB. But 70MB is pretty significant percentage IMO. Unfortunately XDRAM pricing doesn't follow the market pricing for DDR2 or 3 since its a niche product at this point.

The OS uses less ram on all PS3s letting devs use that space in future games is how I (and most people here it seems) am reading it.

I hope next gen has 4 gig RAM, and just think without Epic Games no game on either HD system would be possible.

Nice. 70MB is fantastic from the graphics side. Though I understand why the extra comments about how gameplay and design will no impact.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.
