I think Monster Hunter Tri is going to be a huge boon for Nintendo. It's gonna be BIG.

It's a Wii exclusive that used to be a PlayStation only title. It's a "hardcore" third party game and it will attract a lot of non-Nintendo customers.

That with the Black Classic Controller Pro, free online play, Wii Speak compatibility and other incentives........it's a must buy game for everybody. If they release the Black Wii along side it I may even consider replacing my broken Wii and getting this game with it.

Either way, huge news today and 50% Wii market share this year.

give me a number

I say 500k US this year.  800k in Europe.  Basically, it's going to double western MHFU shipments imo.

Around the Network

Metroid Info from Press release ----- "This new approach uses a new control scheme in which players use the Wii Remote™ controller held sideways to battle enemies and navigate the expansive, gorgeous environments in classic Metroid fashion, then aim at the screen with the Wii Remote pointer to blast foes in first-person and hunt the world for clues and hidden passages."

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

SMG2 IS FRIKKIN MAY!!!!!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I could be wrong but there does seem to be a lot of hype over MH3 here stateside.

"What have i done.? Is it too late to save me from this place? From the depths of the grave? We all are those .. who thought we were brave."

Something that seems to be getting glossed over is Wideload developing the Disney mystery adventure game. Wideload is ex-Bungie guys.

Between this and Epic Mickey, Disney's really putting their AAA talent on Wii...

All it took was 1 hour 20 minutes for Nintendo to turn NeoGaf from a forum of Ninty Cynics into a forum of Ninty Luvvers.

Well... Its official. I'm gonna be broke again with all the games coming out this year.
