Uhm... in the game that's probably the most interactive you'll see in a while, stating "no interactivity" is a laughable con though :) |

How silly. you quote averages of metacritic to prove my opinions wrong? I said 85 for killzone 2... average is 91...there will be reviews on there much lover than 85... just stop. Dont people realise how silly it is to say "I think a game is worth 9/10 therefore any review lower than 8 is not a worthwhile review"... thats how it has been here recently. |
Well it was nice of you to dodge the main concern which was 7 for inFamous at "best". You are stating your opinion as definitive fact, well most of the world disagree with you. The other thing is, I merely pointed out that 6/10 and 7/10 is far from the universal average, if you let that one slip, we wouldn't be discusing it now.
I read the Teletext review (Heavy Rain) and it didn't seem fair at all, like the reviewer couldn't grasp the concept of the "game". I can understand some reviewers giving it 7, because you either appriciate some fresh ideas in the stinking valley that is the video game industry, and close your eye on some imperfections, which are to be expected with project of this size, or you just bash everything with overly critical eye. But 4/10 is an insult.

I'm getting Heavy Rain and will play it through... but I think there is a strange elite attitude surrounding the game It is almost as though it is impossible to criticise the game because Heavy Rain is somehow arty and high brow and that means it shouldnt be criticised because the developers have been brave. |
you are very very brave
But somewhere I also got the same feeling from some threads on this site, just couldn't say it.
All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

It's ok to criticize it, but with fair and honest critic. I can take EDGE score, but I can't take this teletext crap. Have you read the review? If it's fair by you, why the hell would you want to get that game? Are you masochist?

jneul said: This is bad, reviewers should be taught to give unbiased scores not based on their tastes of gaming, if there is nothing wrong with the game i.e. bugs, glitches, freezing, then there is no real reason to mark down as this much, from what I have played on so far it is not a game for everyone but to me it is a 9/10 game, can't wait until I can afford to but it. |
I'm not looking for a report on how bug free games are in reviews. I personally hope reviewers rate games on their enjoyment and fun factor. Which is subjective, yes. So what I find valuable is finding a reviwer that fits my taste, and then I know they will give a fairly accurate rating compared to what I would.

No.. Im quoting my opinion as my opinion. YOU are saying my opinion is wrong because its not the average opinion.... So by your logic all of those score of 100 for killzone are stupid and wrong then too... because its over the average. You need to think things through a bit more. |
You have a rare gift of twisting and misinterpreting truth, you should be in politics or a spokeperson. You never pick the real substance, just beat around the bush.
You need to think things through a bit more.

Yes, obviously
My first hour with Heavy Rain:
I was told that I had to download an update that took 26 minutes. That was followed by a HDD install that seemed to take forever. While it installed, I entertained myself by following some onscreen instructions (people who buy the game will know what I'm talking about). Finally, the game kicked off. I did some mundane things (shaving, brushing teeth) at which point, I grabbed my 8 year old and ran out of the room!!! Full on ass shot, right in our faces.
The game is going to be awesome, though. I know it is. The way it starts off was a little off-putting. Still, I am so excited to play this game (and I will in a few more minutes) that you wouldn't believe it!
