Well people do buy game systems during the holiday season and you know how popular halo is.

The beta was just fine. The major patch revolved around the control scheme. Neither they nor us beta testers expected such a significant backlash over the controls. I can't think of anybody who wasn't fine with the controls as they were prior to release. Other than that, the game's multiplayer was pretty nicely balanced on release, though I appreciate Guerrilla's williness to tweak minor things like turret damage for months post-release based on fan feedback. |
Agreed. I was in the beta as well and there was no complaints. the one thing they needed to fix was the assault class, and they didn't even fix it for the actuall game.
I honestly think the control change made the game worse....people where expecting a beefed up COD for some reason....
I think everyone is so trained on COD controls now that they're not taking the time to switch. I'm glad mag isn't getting the same complaints.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: Warframe, Witcher 2

you and me both bro.
but MAG is a different story, the simple fact that it is not visually appealing actually saved it from call of duty's crowd, I mean only a noob would buy a game based off of graphics and MAG dosen't have that problem thank freaking jesus.
killzone on the other hand will look better than any game this gen sooooo we have a problem, cod crowd will flock to game thinking it's no more than the empty hollow lv. up but with really awesome graphics, and when they find a deep meaning full hardcore tactical shooter they will begin to wine, just like they did with killzone 2. So I am really really scared for that game, I honestly think they will go the route of cod and in which case I won't be buying it.

Although I'd like to agree with you, I just can't.
HALO is just too big.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral
I don't think that less than 2 year gap between titles from the same series is a wise idea (CoD hehe...). I'd like to see some dramatic improvements on KZ2, even if we assume that the engine is mostly unchanged, I expect some tweeks and upgrades, something that will make the game worth my money.
MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

You are right. KZ series is different from the COD and Halo styles as well as MAG. MW and MW2 are a bit on the arcadey side (fun nonetheless), and Halo has a huge name backing it with traditionally good gameplay and loyal following. KZ2 offered a good variety of classes that are VERY customizable ie. unlocking tactician's air support and leveling and then switching the engineer's repair for air support now being able to set a turret and a mini ATAC. The only map in which snipers can feel at home is Pyrrhus rise, and even that map can be a pain for them because of the massive amounts of dust throughout. MAG is very tactical (especially domination) and that game is potentially better than ALL the FPS's mentioned, HOWEVER in order for that to occur, the userbase needs to be at least somewhat organized. Just 10 min ago I got off to take a break but had a 6 hour marathon between sabotage, acquisition and domination (lvl 23 rapid assault atm).
All in all KZ2 has a complete multiplayer and is fairly well balanced with controls that are meant for the better batch of console fps players. For KZ3 I would say a better story, slightly more diverse SP, with an MP that perhaps has a few vehicles based on game modes (like MAG acquisition.) Halo continues to be more of the same (CE was my favorite in series followed by 3), although Reach is very promising for the story as well as the way certain upgrades will affect your armor (based on my reading of GameInformer).
@Spankey Halo is big just like MW2 is big, that doesn't necessarily mean they are the better games. Each has their strengths, but the mp in MAG , KZ2 and even BF2 on PC was much deeper and more fun overall, of course this is on the merit of customizability (i know, not a word) and layers of strategy as full camping and run and gun won't get you very far. Anyways if anyone is down for some MAG or KZ2 message me, hopefully I won't be banned as usually when I say anything remotely bad about Halo or MW the......adamant fans (for lack of a better word), of those series tend to be quick to QQ hehe. Have a good one.
Make games, not war (that goes for ridiculous fanboys)
I may be the next Maelstorm or not, you be the judge http://videogamesgrow.blogspot.com/ hopefully I can be more of an asset than a fanboy to VGC hehe.
yes killzone 3 with motion controls, yes please, they better make it a standard, otherwise lots of people will be getting pwned when using dualshock lol
it's the future of handheld
