Forums - Sales - We have a new entrant in the used game sales wars: Walmart.com

http://www.walmart.com/cp/Pre-Owned-Games-Learn-More/1056244

Wal-Mart now appears to be selling "pre-owned" video games for all the current and immediate past generation systems. They are only available on-line -- shipped free to the store -- and appear to be complete.

The pricing is mostly in line with Gamestop -- though a few titles can be found for less new by shopping around.

There are 191 Xbox 360, 145 Wii, and 134 PS3 tities.

There are also 33 GBA, 24 GC, 212 DS, 301 PS2, 62 PSP, and 127 Xbox games listed.

If Wal-Mart is doing this, this probably means that there is no way to stop it.

Walmart is going to kill the gaming industry.

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m
3DS: 80-85m
PSV: 15-20m

I thought they finished with the "pre-owned" business experiment when the kiosks got pulled from the stores.

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

Good then maybe all these anti used game nazi tactics will stop.

Long Live SHIO!

Except their pricing seems to be line with Gamestop (as stated in the OP).

exactly my point. Gamestop will have to lower their prices to force their competitor off their monopoly of used games.

Yay! Maybe Zelda TP used can be found with less than $54.99.

D'oh! I was not thinking through your point.

Already, the fear of competition (remember Toys R Us taking games in complete only) has made Gamestop guarantee that the used games it sells on-line are complete.

2012. The end of the world. That's how long it's going to take for Wal-Mart to kill the industry.
