Forums - Sales Discussion - PAL Charts - Week 7

Holy shit at the increase of just dance.

This stuff's gonna sell 3 million before all is said and done

It's only out ~14 weeks and it's sold nearly 1.5 million, and is selling fairly steadily at around 100K every week. Unless something comes along and cuts out it's legs, I think we're looking at something more like 5 million+.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Interesting Bayonetta PS3 outselling 360 version in the UK. Looks like she's getting some love from the PS3 crowd now that she's all fit.

Damn, how long has NSMBW been number 1 in Holland??

Forza 3 is a survivor, Mass Effect 2 is already below it.

Currently playing on PS3: God of War III

Currently playing on Xbox360: Final Fantasy XIII

Currently playing on NDS: Chrono Trigger

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the AvP breakdown is:

58 per cent of sales on the Xbox 360, 32 per cent on the PlayStation 3 and nine per cent on PC

1% seems to be missing but it's probably a round off error on GI.biz side.

Giggs - The UK chart is up on chart track. You can put in in the OP.

Wii SW seems to have jumped amazingly this week for some reason (am not in the UK so don't know what was special about last week...).

Wii hardware may have replenished or something.

Since when was the Wii in short supply in the UK?

Well not surprising to see both Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympics and Vancouver 2010 games see huge increases. Should see that all around the world for last week's sales. Also lots of nice increases for some other titles, namely the unstoppable Just Dance and New Super Mario Bros Wii. Topped off by a great opener of Aliens vs. Predator.

Half term = 1 week school holiday = younger children and teens in supermarkets with parents which is where a hell of a lot of Wii software is sold.

I don't know, that's why I said, or something. A hardware increase seems like the only way that those titles could've gotten such large sales boosts, especially when nothing significant has happened to spur software like this. They may have received price drops, but I doubt it.
