It's no God of War, but it's pretty close. War is one of those characters that is bad ass enough to make the game believable (since he's one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, it doesn't feel like the power you have is forced on you). The combat is really sharp, there are tons of combos to access, voice acting is engaging, and the story is quite gripping (since it's the end of the world). It does feel a bit linear though, the boss fights are a joke, and the graphics kinda suck. But overall it's a really great game. 9/10 for me :)

Anyone else liking the game? At first I thought it was bad, but as I played on it grew on me. Mostly it's because of the depth of the characters.

I love the zelda/metroid/god of war mish mash of gameplay and items, loads to collect and the fact it's quite unforgiving if you play on apocalyptic difficulty. I'm also quite fond of the boss battles and the blatant zelda like strategies to defeating them. Don't know how far you are into it but there's an item you get towards the end that will make portal fans really happy and provide some pretty nifty puzzles aswell

i just got the gun from the big fat dude with the hammer. yeah i heard there's some kind of portal thingy. looking forward to it :)

I rented it for a night and was so surprised by how good it looked and played that I ended up returning it late and getting a late fee. The gameplay is very familiar and the presentation was just fantastic, not realistic, but colourful and well designed.

i m debating what to get between that and dante's inferno (did not like bayonetta at all)

between darksiders,dante,ninja gaiden sigma 2,and bayonetta which one is better purchase for a mature gamer??

i kinda found bayonetta fun in game play but did not like the character /story at all.(played 2 hours of it at my friends house)

Personally I'd go for Bayonetta, because I have never seen such great, fluent and crazy (in a good way) gameplay.

2nd choice would be Darksiders, although I think you can't go wrong with any of these games.

^ i'd recommend darksiders above all of them because it has a lot of variety and the story is quite mature. it's very gripping to control War himself.
