Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's Summit Prediction Thread!

1.-Vitality sensor

2.-More WM+ games announced and Virtual Console for DSi

3.-Wii HD

4.-Zelda Wii

Around the Network

I expect Galaxy 2, Sin and Punishment 2 and Other M will all be playable. New trailers for them and Xenoblade/Monado. Possibly a Last Story teaser. No new software announcements but a Zelda teaser-either more concept art or 1 minute trailer.

I'd like to see concrete release dates for all of the above, plus the announcement of Virtual Console/Arcade extending to DSi in some form or another.

I think we will also hear something about Netflix.

some people have crazy expectations for this thing, as if we'd get the last stort, vitality sensor or pikmin 3 at this thing. thats crazy talk

Pikmin 3 isn't a surprise, we know that it's coming. In the last Nintendo's Summit (which ocurred in different locations just like this summit) they announced the DSi.

During the last summit (in 2008), all the announcements were made at the Japanese one. The American one unveiled nothing and featured less than 10% (or so) of all the games that were present at the Japanese one.

The fact that there's no Japanese conference this time is an eye opener. It will probably be just what Iwata told their investors, minus a good chunk of the stuff.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

oh yeah pikmin 3 will definately come but its a late 2011 title if that. id say we will see it in 2012, probably one of the last big wii games.

people need to stop thinking that when miyamoto said we are making pikmin 3 that it was in production. it was a statement that they were going to make pikmin 3 in the future.

the 2008 conference was more than likely quite big to try and repair some of the damage done by their awful E3 showing. This one is different since they have E3 in just a few months time to show of big titles, they dont really need to do anything here.

zelda is an E3 game, vitality sensor are E3 games, retros studios project will probably be an E3 game

what we will get is a focus on smaller titles, stuff like line attack heroes and span smasher, along with new info and media of already announced titles. Last story is being revealed in march so i dont expect much, probably will get a big E3 push.

the most we can hope for is localisation news on dynamic slash and xenoblade, some downloadable announcements and a montage of small game announcements likw 2008

this is nintendo's X10, that didnt have that much big stuff and neither will this.

having said that, there must be a reason why nintendo delayed the fall conference, possibly they do have some big games to announce thta they cant fit in E3. we will just have to wait.

what time does the conference start GMT?

the other way of looking at it of course is that as theres no japan conference america will have all the new stuff rather than having to just repeat in english. IIRC, in 2008 all but one of the game revealed were developed in japan. game reveale wise this conference could possibly have some small western developed games

If DSi XL is coming out in this quarter as they say it is, then have to give it a hype push. That should be the major thing.

Beyond that, they'll probably give some release dates and let the press play a couple key games for Wii/DS/Digital stuff.

Wii:

Galaxy 2/Metroid release dates. Probably playable.

Monster Hunter 3 playable

Sin & Punishment 2, and maybe a few others will show up too.

Probably some hype for stuff like NBA Jam, Epic Mickey and Red Steel 2.

DS:

DSi XL centered mostly

Pokemon HG / SS

Golden Sun, maybe a couple third party games.

VC/DSiWare/WW:

Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Max & The Magic Marker

Could see a couple third party games announced for WW/DSiWare/DS/Wii too. Personally, I'd like to see what DS would do with a price drop in the USA, but there is no reason for it yet since PSP is more expensive and performing much worse in comparison.

Yes, I can't say that you are wrong (in any part) but as I said, in the last summit (similar to this recent media summit) they announced the DSi, I think it's a big thing.
